Frames look great, we agree on that. Frames complement pictures and enhance their effect. This is exactly why pictures have a frame in every sensible exhibition. But a frame also beautifies the entire work when it is displayed on the screen. But with all due respect, creating these frames manually is a lot of work. Too much work. Even professional RAW converters like Capture One and Lightroom are of no help here.

Most of them, including myself, just think they can’t find the function there – in reality it just doesn’t exist. And this is exactly where my Pola Border Tool comes in. The Pola Border Tool creates pictures in the instant picture style. In black or white, with or without text.

With my Pola-Border Tool for Mac OS and Capture One Pro you can now add an optional white or black border in the instant image style directly and without further effort when exporting your images. Of course, your picture will not be cropped but expanded by this border.
You can define export presets in Capture One so that the frame is added immediately. So you can beautify a single picture or hundreds of them. The tool also works independently, because you can use the Pola Border Tool directly from MacOS to quickly and easily embellish existing images with a border using drag and drop.

Pasting text couldn’t be easier. If you want to integrate text in the frame, simply copy it to the clipboard beforehand. There are 6 fonts available. From striking to elegant. Arial, Impact, Marker Felt, Phosphate, Signpainter and Snell. All in black or white. You get separate apps for working frames without text.

I programmed the “plug-in” frame for Capture one pro as I have always wanted it to be. Even if it is not a plugin in the strict sense of the word, it works very similarly, completely unnoticed in the background. No stress, no Photoshop, no manual processing. Just a picture with a nice frame. Yes sir!


The Pola Border Tool for Capture One Pro could be called a plug-in for frames. However, this is not entirely correct, because the frame is created after the export. This means that the picture with the frame will not be visible in Capture One unless you re-import it after exporting.

Installation

This tool requires that you install ImageMagick. A 100% free tool. Imagemagick can only be installed via the terminal. Of course, you will receive simple installation instructions immediately after purchase. You don’t need any knowledge of the terminal. All you have to do is copy 2 commands from my installation instructions and paste them into the terminal.


Why framed pictures

Plain and simple: it looks great. Pictures always come into their own with a frame. That was the case with old paintings. Well, back then the frames were quite different and more detailed than they are today, but the principle remains the same. A good frame supports the image effect. It is important that the frame itself does not attract too much attention or even steal the show from the picture.

Stop looking – even if it seems incredible, Capture One Pro inherently cannot add frames to the image. This is exactly why I developed this tool. You can now add beautiful frames to pictures without any further effort. Directly from Capture One Pro or via drag and drop in finder.

There is nothing to add to the previous speaker … the idea is brilliant and works smoothly. Perhaps add to the manual for MacOS users: when you start it for the first time, GateKeeper complains and requires permission to run the program once in the system settings. In addition, you can also use this tool with Lightroom Classic if you select these apps during the image export under ‘Post-processing’.

    Das Tool ist bei mir nun 4 Wochen im Einsatz. Ich bin sehr zufrieden.
    Einfacher kann man keine Rahmen erstellen.
    Schön wäre es, wenn man die Breite des Rahmens für jede Seite gesondert einstellen könnte. (Unten breiter wie Oben)
