Fuji film simulations rock!
I think we all agree. Fujifilm’s film simulations are great. But if you don’t always buy the latest camera, you will not be able to enjoy the latest film simulations. Capture One Pro only shows a limited selection of film simulations.
Perhaps you have already asked google how you can use Classic Neg and Bleach Bypass directly in your X-T3 or older Fuji X camera, for example. Unfortunately, this is not easily possible. But anyway it makes a lot of sense to shoot in RAW format. And when you combine the power of RAW files with the creative possibilities of film simulations, photography is twice as much fun.
That’s exactly why I developed a solution for it. With my Fake-X Tool for Mac OS and Capture One Pro you can now easily change the metadata of your image files and use the latest film simulations. The metadata of your pictures will be changed. Please make a backup of the pictures!
What does the Fake-X Tool do
This tool manipulates the metadata of RAW files. The camera model is changed. This means that all film simulations of the respective camera can be used directly in Capture One.
It is possible to change to the following camera models:
- works directly from MacOS via Drag and Drop
- works directly in Capture One
- runs only on MacOS!
This tool requires you to install ExifTool. A 100% free tool. You will receive simple installation instructions for this after purchase.
How is the fake X tool integrated
I programmed the Fake-X “Plugin” for Capture one Pro so that it can be perfectly integrated into your workflow. Even if it’s not a plugin in the strict sense, it works very similarly. The Fake-X Tool can be used in two ways after installation.
You can drag and drop one or more images onto the tool to change the metadata.
In Capture One
You can process one or more images by right-clicking and using the “open with …” dialog. The film simulations are immediately available in Capture One. No re-import is necessary.
The easiest way to activate all currently available film simulations is to select the camera model X-T4. Herewith you receive the following Fuji film simulations directly in Capture One:
- Acros + G Filter
- Acros + R Filter
- Acros + Ye Filter
- Astia (Soft)
- Classic Chrome
- Classic Negative
- Eterna (Cinema)
- Eterna Bleach Bypass
- Monochrome + G Filter
- Monochrome + R Filter
- Monochrome + Ye Filter
- Pro Neg. Hi
- Pro Neg. Std
- Privia (Standard)
- Velvia (Vivid)
Why Fuji Film Simulationen
Plain and simple: they look great! The Fuji film simulations simply give the pictures harmonious colors. A solid basis for further image processing. My personal favorites are Classic Chrome and Eterna Bleach Bypass. Which one is yours
Rock n’ Roll!
I love landscape photography – and that’s exactly why I made the Fake-X Tool for Capture one Pro for you. I want your photos to be dramatic and stunning.
I would like to share my knowledge with you and show you tips and tricks for using your camera and Capture one Pro.
When I’m not giving courses, I like to travel. For example, I have already been able to travel to Iceland, the USA, India, Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia.
In the meantime, I travel a lot for Fujifilm as an X-Photographer. That means, I speak at events, create commercials and videos for new cameras. I also regularly post new videos on my Youtube Channel.
Thanks for your trust!
